Report illegal content
Send the exact Pigeon share link and explain why you believe the content is illegal. A subject such as "Pigeon illegal-content report" helps us identify the request.
Include the following information. Do not send copies of suspected illegal material, passwords, or unnecessary identity documents.
- The exact URL of each reported item and any details needed to identify it.
- The relevant facts and reasons why you believe the content is illegal.
- Your name and email address, except where the exception below applies.
- A statement confirming your good-faith belief that the information and allegations in the notice are accurate and complete.
Reporting without identifying details
The name and email requirement does not apply to notices about suspected offences under Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU.
For those notices, you do not need to state your name or email address in the message. We do not require a verified identity.
We can assess credible information without a usable return address. Without one, we cannot send questions or updates.
We also assess incomplete reports when the information already available gives grounds to act or seek clarification.
How we handle a notice
A person assesses the information, its urgency, and the relevant law or service terms. A report count does not decide removal.
When a usable contact address is available, we send an acknowledgment and the decision without undue delay. We explain the available remedies.
We can ask for necessary clarification. We can leave a file available or block access and remove it when justified.
Where required, we inform the affected uploader using contact details available to us. Anonymous uploads do not always supply those details.
Opening an email link creates a draft, not a submitted report. Send the message from your email app or webmail and keep your sent copy.
Personal data requests
Email privacy@wmie.it and explain which data and right your request concerns. Include an available file link or previous correspondence.
Do not send identity documents initially. We ask only for additional information necessary to locate the data or resolve reasonable identity doubts.
We normally respond within one calendar month under GDPR Article 12. We explain a permitted extension within the original month.
Request human review
Reply to our email or send a new message to privacy@wmie.it. Identify the file or previous decision and explain why you request review.
A person reconsiders the information and explains the outcome. You can also seek judicial remedies or complain to the competent data protection authority where applicable.
Review does not extend the original file lifetime, reset access limits, or recover files that were already deleted.
Urgent risks and authority orders
If someone faces immediate danger, contact emergency services or the competent authority. Pigeon is not an emergency response service.
The electronic contact point for competent authorities and removal orders is privacy@wmie.it. WMIE accepts communications in Italian and English.
Authorities must provide the issuing authority, legal basis, exact affected location, required action, and information needed to authenticate the order.
WMIE assesses valid orders and applicable reporting or preservation duties without treating every report as a police notification.
Correspondence and retention
We use correspondence to handle the request, communicate the outcome, protect rights, and meet applicable obligations.
WMIE normally keeps this correspondence for up to 180 days from the initial email. A person reviews and deletes it.
A documented legal obligation or dispute can require limited additional retention. This does not extend ordinary file sharing.
See the privacy notice for information about providers, residual copies, and your rights.
